Here's a short but joyful post! Christmas present came early to me this year! Leading up to this point, if anyone who plays Dark Souls on the PC complains that they die because of lag, you better believe it. For once, this is more of a reason than an excuse, and it is legit. However recently, Durante; the guy who came up with the fix for the lag that the Dark Souls PC port has been suffering from; released a new version of the fix here. This is probably the smallest form of update I ever downloaded for a video game but it is also the one that I appreciate the most!
I've been playing Dark Souls for quite a while now, and for a game that difficult, constant lag and unstable framerate are not very much welcomed. They're also the reasons I abandoned Dark Souls when I first got it two years ago. But I went back to the game about a month or so ago, and had to endure what had been keeping me away from the game for the last couple of years: the lag. Heck, to make myself feel better, I even began to pretend that the lag is a part of the game, like some strange power cursed onto me to slow me down by whatever higher form of evil being that's lurking in the game.
Fighting an armored boar has never been this joyful. |
But thanks to good people like Durante who stepped in to save the day when nobody could, now I (and a whole bunch of people, surely) are able to enjoy the game while free from the scourge of that horrible lag that'd been plaguing the game for so long. Anyway, I'm thinking that I probably should start over with a fresh character and continue to spend the next 60 to 100 hours getting killed in Lordran in various ways; stabbed, burned to death, shredded, crushed, beheaded; you name it, but surely they'll be less frustrating than before.

Nice! I will re-download Dark Souls and try the game out again! Thanks! Also, love the blog. I also have one, but yours is very organized!
ReplyDeleteYes, you better do that especially now that Dark Souls is free from GFWL. By the way, thanks! Feel free to follow me as well and check out the other blogs that I linked, most of them are inactive but it's always refreshing to read what others have to say about their gaming experience. Cheers!
