Bong the Medic Gun

In both Borderlands games, I always reserve the last weapon slot as the slot for weapons I called the “medic guns”. A medic gun is a weapon that is always equipped, but it’s not necessarily used all the time like the rest of the three equipped weapons. In fact, it’s rarely used, except to score a Second Wind, which is why it’s called the medic gun.

As you can expect, a medic gun should have this one necessary characteristic: it must be able to deliver a high, single shot damage. My medic guns are usually shotguns or rocket launchers. But now and then, I’d replace the current medic gun with a new, more powerful one, as if there is some sort of a Medic Gun Championship, and the belt changes hands from time to time.

Until Bong came along.

Okay, its actual name, which sounds stupid and ridiculous, is “Gaa Dunk Ga Duuurp!”, but I simply call it Bong. Since the day I equipped this Torgue manufactured weapon into the fourth slot, which, as I mentioned, is the special slot for a medic weapon, it never leaves. It has always been there and it is always equipped. So far, I have not yet found any rocket launcher more powerful than Bong. So for now, Bong is still the Medic Weapon Champion.

As long as there are enemies to be shot at on the screen when I’m down, I can always count on Bong to score me my Second Wind.
