New Hopes for GTA V to be on PC

Damn, the title sounds pathetic, hahahaha! But anyway, all this while, PC gamers couldn't help but envy their console friends for having Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) exclusive to their platforms. Cheer up guys! For those of you who signed the online petition requesting Rockstar to release GTA V on PC, your effort has probably paid off. Various gaming websites, including PC GamerGamespot and Eurogamer have been reporting that GTA V is embarking on an odyssey to PC!

While NVidia made a mistake last time by misinforming the excited gaming community that GTA V was coming to PC when there was seemingly no hope for that to happen, now it is Intel who announced with full confidence that it is not a question of if it is true that the big title will launch on PC, but when. A marketing director from Intel, Chris Silva, said that GTA V won't remain a console-exclusive for much longer:

"At least with GTA, I don't think it will be console-exclusive very long. But that's what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content."

So, why is it only now that GTA V is announced to be launched on PC, you may ask? The reason is that somebody had paid lots of money to make sure that title was console-exclusive. Well, Silva said that, not me. Hmmm...fishy, huh? Didn't know that Rockstar would actually mirror its own games. I'm not sure if that's true though. Personally, I think it's pretty strange that Rockstar leaves the PC community out this time, because every GTA game was on PC, including GTA IV albeit the PC launch was a bit late. PC gaming has been growing stronger recently, thanks to services like Steam. Releasing GTA V on the PC will promise big bucks that Rockstar won't easily ignore. One thing is for sure, by the time it comes out on PC, at least 600k copies are guaranteed sold.
Fishy, indeed...
The PC version is predicted to launch within the first quarter of 2014. That seems too early if you ask me. I don't mind Rockstar taking more time working on the PC version if they haven't yet, the same way that I don't mind EA making very slow and thorough progress on Mirror's Edge 2. Nobody wants a rushed and broken game. But the guys at Rockstar haven't announce anything yet, though. There are some "evidence" of the game coming to PC, as compiled here by PC Gamer. But for now, let's just wait for more GTA V news to come to light.
